Dr Harsha Samarasinghe
Founder and Chairman
Dr. Harsha Samarasinghe – A Heart That Heals a Nation
Born in 1980 at the Matara General Hospital, Dr. Harsha Samarasinghe stands today not only as one of Sri Lanka’s most respected cardiologists, but also as a symbol of integrity, discipline, and national vision. Hailing from humble beginnings, the son of a dedicated National Savings Bank field officer and a compassionate teacher, his life has been a testament to the power of education, hard work, and patriotism.
Educated at Rahula College, Matara, Dr. Samarasinghe was recognized early for his brilliance. Excelling in his Advanced Level examinations, he was selected as part of the super merit team of 75 top achievers to the prestigious Colombo Medical Faculty, marking the beginning of a remarkable medical journey.
Graduating in 2005 as a Gold Medalist MBBS Doctor, he quickly rose to prominence through his unwavering dedication to excellence. His journey as a cardiologist took him across oceans to the United Kingdom, where he completed his postgraduate and specialist training at the world-renowned Royal Brompton and Harefield Emperor Wings. There, he earned the rare distinction of becoming a European Society of Cardiology Board Certified Cardiologist, a title held by only a few Sri Lankans—recognized for both clinical mastery and compassion in patient care.
Returning home with his golden qualifications, Dr. Samarasinghe chose not luxury or fame, but service. He has worked in Karapitiya, Ampara, and Hambantota hospitals, and now serves the people of Matara General Hospital with unmatched commitment. Patients describe him as the doctor with a golden heart—a man who listens, cares, and treats every patient as family.
Today, he is celebrated across the Southern Province as Sri Lanka’s most trusted and beloved cardiologist—a healer who combines science with humanity, and professionalism with humility. Yet, beyond medicine, Dr. Samarasinghe’s vision reaches far deeper.
Driven by an unshakable belief that the health of a nation depends on the strength of its values, discipline, and leadership, he has devoted himself to building a disciplined, law-abiding, and nationally unified Sri Lanka. To turn this dream into reality, he founded the “Future Vision” Movement—a citizen-led initiative committed to creating a developed nation grounded in ethics, education, and equal opportunity.
Dr. Harsha Samarasinghe embodies the qualities that Sri Lanka yearns for in its next generation of leaders: intelligence, honesty, compassion, and courage. He is not merely a cardiologist who heals hearts—he is a visionary ready to heal the heart of a nation.
